Notice Regarding Grades
According to a new government directive, even professors who are grading according to 절대평가 cannot give A's and B's to more than 75% of the students.
In other words 25% of the students in each class must get a C+ or worse. If we had known about this earlier, we would have planned the exams differently, but unfortunately the measure was not made known until December.
This means that we DIS professors (like all the other professors at DSU) have to distinguish between B and C+ on the basis of very small differences in points, attendance, etc.
We will try to do this as fairly as possible, but some students will no doubt feel they have been treated unfairly. We ask for your understanding.I have asked the administration office to make a one-time exemption at least for classes with under 10 students, but even this exemption will not be granted next year.
